Colin Bertram (C.B.) Dale, Wes' maternal grandfather. The picture on the left was probably taken around 1915 and the one on the right in around 1940. C.B. was vice-president of engineering for Webcor, a company that made wire recorders and phonographs and the like. He held numerous patents including one for a record changer that would take a mixture of 7", 10", and 12" disks and adjust the playing speed to 45, 78 or 33-1/3 RPM according to the size of the disk. Wes remembers Grandpa Dale bringing books about wild life by Thornton Burgess and reading to him.
CB with Wes' cousin Charles Dale, the first grand-child.
